Creation traces English naturalist Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution from a simple idea to a god-killer. The film tracks how the man struggles to balance his revolutionary theories on evolution and his relationship with a religious wife, whose faith contradicts his work.
Jon Amiel… tells his story with respect and some restraint, showing how sad and weakened Charles is and yet not ratcheting up his grief into unseemly melodrama. One beautiful device Amiel uses is a series of digressions into the natural world, in which we observe everyday applications of the survival of the fittest.

…has a pleasing sense of forward motion [and] characters who suffer deeply, but are attractive because of it, morally, for the way they struggle through with love and belief.

Shows that all faith, any faith, is made stronger through questioning and emotional trial.
